Westchester Boxing Club Knocks Out Financial Uncertainty

February 18, 2026

The Comeback Round

Nick Delury’s story began on the streets of White Plains, NY, where he battled homelessness and addiction. His life reached a turning point at “The Cage,” a city-funded boxing program for at-risk youth. In that facility – the very same building his gym occupies today – Nick made a life-saving pact to get sober. Boxing became the anchor for his recovery, providing the discipline and structure he needed to overcome his addiction and reclaim his life.

His journey was not a straight line. An early gym venture, funded by pumping gas at night, eventually failed, leaving him sleeping in his car once again. But Nick’s resilience is his superpower. As a single father, he spent six years driving tow trucks and limousines to save every dollar while learning to run a gym as a business rather than just a passion. In 2009, he came full circle, opening the Westchester Boxing Club in the building where his recovery first began.

The Business of Building People Up

Nick’s White Plains gym isn’t typical. He focuses on one-on-one training with over 300 members who often pay for packages up to a year in advance. While this model is successful, it creates a major challenge: unpredictable cash flow.

“One week I can make $10,000, and then I might not make a dollar for two weeks,” Nick explains.

This uncertainty is a constant hurdle for a business with 14 employees on payroll. Stability is critical for the unique community he serves. The gym has become a vital resource for children on the autism spectrum and clients with Parkinson’s disease who use boxing to improve motor skills, balance, and confidence. His business is a lifeline for many, and keeping the doors open is non-negotiable.

Forward Financing In His Corner

To manage the financial ups and downs, Nick researched flexible capital options online. After finding that other companies lacked transparency, he chose Forward Financing for its straightforward process and supportive relationship.

The impact has been transformative. The capital allows him to consistently make payroll, upgrade equipment, and continue growing his staff. It provides the buffer he needs to operate with confidence through slow weeks. His business is now stronger than ever, a testament to his mindset of adapting and overcoming. From the streets of White Plains to a celebrated business owner and community hero, Nick Delury has demonstrated what it means to keep fighting. We’re proud to provide the financial tools that help him win every round.
