Boston Business Journal Announces Best Places to Work Rankings

October 7, 2020 | Company News

October 7, 2020 – The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) recently announced that Forward Financing was named #17 on its annual list of the Best Places to Work for midsize companies. While the BBJ shared that Forward Financing had been named one of its 79 finalists in June, they announced the final rankings last week.

“In the two decades that we have been surveying and studying the Best Places to Work,” says BBJ Market President & Publisher, Caroline Jones, “we have never seen executives and employees working harder at keeping their companies moving forward while maintaining corporate culture from wherever those workers are working.”

With the packages filled with a champagne glass and bottle, the team toasted to overcoming many obstacles over the past few months and for making Forward Financing a great place to work.

The leadership team reflected on team wins from the past few months and how it propelled the company to the position it is in today. The Account Servicing team, for example, stepped up to the challenge of managing a large influx of customer requests and thrived under incredibly stressful conditions. Others shared how the underwriting team quickly adjusted to changing processes and guidelines throughout this unprecedented economic environment.

The final rankings were determined by Quantum Workplace, which conducted online surveys of the employees for each company that asked them to rate their respective work environment in the following categories.

  1. Communication and Resources – I have the information I need to do my job well.
  2. Individual Needs – My job gives me flexibility to meet the needs of both my work and personal life.
  3. Manager Effectiveness – My immediate manager helps me to be successful in my job.
  4. Personal Engagement – I find my job interesting and challenging.
  5. Team Dynamics – The people I work with most closely are committed to producing top quality work.
  6. Trust in Leadership – There is open and honest communication between employees and managers.

The companies honored in the ceremony ranged in size and industry. Award winners and their rankings were announced in five categories: Extra Large Companies (1,000 employees and up), Large Companies (250 to 999 employees), Midsized Companies (100 to 249 employees), Small Companies (50 to 99 employees) and Extra Small Companies (20 to 49 employees).
