2021 Fast 50 List Honors Forward Financing

May 18, 2021 | Company News

May 18, 2021 — The Boston Business Journal has named Forward Financing, a leading provider of revenue-based financing to small businesses, to its exclusive 2021 Fast 50 list. This list represents the 50 fastest-growing private companies in Massachusetts. This is the fifth consecutive year that Forward Financing has been named on the Fast 50 list.

“Thank you to the Boston Business Journal for this incredible honor,” said Forward Financing’s co-founder and CEO, Justin Bakes. “We all faced many challenges this past year, and this recognition is a testament of our team’s unwavering dedication to helping our small business customers reach their full potential.”

This year, the company was ranked #38 fastest-growing private company in Massachusetts, with a 3-year revenue rate of 96%.

The 2021 Fast 50 companies are ranked based on a formula that counts revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. Companies on the Fast 50 must be based in Massachusetts and report revenue of at least $500,000 in 2017 and $1 million in 2020. The Business Journal’s research department collected and analyzed the data.

Forward Financing was also featured in a recent Boston Business Journal article as one of the Fast 50 honorees that overcame many obstacles in 2020 and was still ranked as one of the fastest-growing companies. Many of Forward Financing’s small business customers typically operate with low profit margins or variable revenue sources. When many of its customers needed to close their doors due to the government-mandated closures, the company was able to provide best-in-class customer service. The Account Servicing Department, the team responsible for assisting customers with payment schedules, was recently recognized by the 2021 American Business Awards as one of the Best Customer Service Departments of the Year.

“The economic shutdown sent a lot of companies’ strategies and financials into uncharted territory in 2020, but as the 2021 Fast 50 illustrates, Greater Boston’s fastest-growth companies pivoted and prospered despite it all,” Carolyn M. Jones, market president and publisher of the Boston Business Journal.
